In this step you will learn more about integrating your Gen4 HR Management System with data from your payroll system.
To provide a "one stop shop" for all of your employee data, Gen4 allows you to upload information from your payroll system for display in both your employee and HR manager portals. The payroll import process provides the ability to import your per pay period payroll for the primary purpose of communicating this information to your employees. As part of using the employee self-service components, you can optionally choose to implement compensation reports based off information natively tracked in your HR system, or compensation reports based off imported payroll data.
To access the payroll integration tools, go to "My HR Database" > "Payroll Integration". The process of importing payroll first begins by establishing a valid payroll mapping. A payroll mapping is a simple process of setting up which columns in your CSV (comma separated value) import file correspond to fields in your HR system. The mapping process is a one-time process. Once the mapping process is completed, you may important payroll each pay period. The payroll file mapping section enables you to select from over 30 different payroll fields for importation. The fields that are available for import are identified below. For each field that you wish to import, you must provide the column name of that field exactly as listed in your CSV import file. For ease of mapping, it is recommended that you remove spaces or other special characters from your column labels.
Map the fields from your payroll report to Gen4, then upload a payroll report. Contact us at On Song if you have any questions.
